BoneHead RC Baja HD Wheelie Bar Kit

More than a wheelie bar it’s an HD bashers bar, the BoneHead RC V2 isn’t designed simply to stop your Baja tipping onto its back. It’s a Heavy Duty wheelie bar built for extreme bashing. If your Baja is being driven hard, launched, landed heavily and subjected to the kind of abuse that a serious basher puts a car through, you want a wheelie bar that can take it. That’s exactly why the V2 was redesigned.

The original BoneHead RC wheelie bar has been around for years and has done its job well, but the design deliberately allowed some flex and movement through the system. The new HD version takes a completely different approach.

At 20 kg load:

V1 deflects 12 mm
V2 HD deflects only 4 mm
3× the stiffness, with 66.7% less deflection
The whole assembly has been redesigned as one rigid structure, with stronger brackets, substantially more rigid side bars and additional bracing tying both sides together.

What Has Changed

• Completely redesigned heavy-duty 4mm mounting brackets 137% stonger, with smooth transitions around the formed bends to remove sharp corners and reduce potential stress points
• Changed material and redesigned for a more rigid side bars
• 13mm diameter support bar tying both sides together and resisting twist
• Reinforced upper structure linking the brackets together

• This is not simply the old wheelie bar with thicker brackets fitted. The complete system has been engineered so the brackets, side bars and supports work together as one rigid structure.

Why The HD Design Is Stronger - A wheelie bar is only as strong as the complete structure. Strengthening one part while leaving movement elsewhere simply transfers the load to the next weak point. The HD design ties both sides of the assembly together to reduce independent movement and twisting under hard acceleration and impact. The result is a much more rigid and controlled setup.

Proven Bar Material - The material used for the side bars has been proven on BoneHead RC test rigs back in 2019. It was originally too rigid for the earlier bracket design, so a more flexible material was used instead. The new HD structure now allows us to use this much more rigid material as part of the complete system. After years of hard use, it has proven resistant to warping and permanent bending, which is exactly why it was chosen for the new HD design.

Adjustable To How You Run - The wheelie angle can be adjusted to suit the setup you want, from keeping the front end down to allowing a much higher wheelie angle.
